The health and safety of everyone who enters our facilities is our top priority. As the global outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we are monitoring the situation and paying close attention to guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and the PA Department of Health.
Nittany Gymnastics Academy has decided to close the week of March 16. While the risks may be low for contracting the virus within our clientele, the possibility of even one child or person infected while in our facility is not a risk we are willing to take. The safety of all our clients We will continue to evaluate the impact of this virus in our community and inform you of changes beyond March 22.
Nittany Gymnastics instructors and staff are also taking the necessary precautions to protect the children in our programs. To assist with these efforts, please ensure that you keep your child home if they are showing symptoms of illness or have a fever of 100 degrees or higher. Children must be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to our programs. It’s also important to discuss proper handwashing techniques with your children to help reduce the spread of germs – follow the CDC’s handwashing recommendations for kids here.
Please know that our staff is taking extra steps to ensure our facilities are as clean and healthy as possible. This includes even greater vigilance when disinfecting high-touch items such as gymnastics equipment, handrails, and doorknobs.
To assist us with sanitation efforts, please remember to do the following when visiting our facilities:
- Dispose of tissues immediately after use
- Have your child wash their hands before entering the gym
- Stay home when you are sick and avoid contact with those who show signs of illness
- Cover your mouth with a tissue (or your elbow) when sneezing or coughing and dispose of waste properly
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
